Baseball's biggest man came up just short.
Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge finished second to Astros second baseman Jose Altuve in the American League Most Valuable Player race on Thursday, according to an announcement from Major League Baseball and the Baseball Writer Association of America.
The Marlins Giancarlo won it in the National League.
Judge got two first-place votes, 27 second-place votes and one third-place vote.
Judge won the AL Rookie of the Year award. He also earned a Silver Slugger and was a Gold Glove finalist in a historic rookie season that saw the 25-year-old help carry the Yankees to a first-place Wild Card finish and to a loss in Game 7 of the AL Championship Series.
