The New York Yankees may not play an inning of actual baseball in 2020, and even if they do, likely, fans won’t be allowed into the stadium.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has been in charge of the government’s response to COVID-19, spoke with YES Network’s Jack Curry in an interview this week. In regard to fans potentially appearing at Yankee games this year, he stated, “That is possible.”
The workaround that would allow fans to enjoy live baseball would ultimately be difficult to implement and problematic from a safety standpoint. It would require fans to use protective gear for their faces while also practicing social distancing within the stadium.
