Why you shouldn't worry about Yankees' Mark Teixeira's broken leg

TAMPA, Fla. — Mark Teixeira's season-ending right shin fracture confounded the Yankees and the first baseman for weeks last season.

While the doctors initially diagnosed the injury, caused by Teixeira's own foul ball, as a bone bruise, no matter how long the 35-year-old rested and waited for recovery, it never came. Eventually, however, a test revealed the fracture, and Teixeira's impressive campaign ended Aug. 26.

But the leg won't be a problem in 2016, Teixeira's personal trainer, Ben Prentiss, told NJ Advance Media Wednesday afternoon.

"That hasn't even been brought up since November or December," said Prentiss, who owns Prentis Human Performance in Stamford, Conn.
