It is the third week in November, so of course the Yankees and Mariners made a trade. Brian Cashman and his Seattle counterpart, Jerry Dipoto, waited all the way until Nov. 19 to make their biggest swap yet with each other, with the Yankees acquiring James Paxton. The past two offseasons the teams made trades on Nov. 18.
On Nov. 18, 2016, the Yanks traded James Pazos to the Mariners for Zack Littell. On Nov. 18, 2017, the Yanks dealt Nick Rumbelow to the Mariners for J.P. Sears and Juan Then. On Monday, the Yankees landed Paxton for Justus Sheffield, Erik Swanson and Don Thompson-Williams.
