TAMPA — Alex Rodriguez is still going, going gone after the 2017 season.
But he said again on Thursday he reserves the right to change his mind.
“I stand by my comments,” Rodriguez said at George M. Steinbrenner Field before the Yankees fell to the Rays, 6-2.
“I won’t play after next year,” Rodriguez told ESPN on Wednesday. “I’ve really enjoyed my time. For me, it is time for me to go home and be Dad.”
That is pretty cut and dry, but Rodriguez is leaving himself some wiggle room.
Nothing is simple with A-Rod.
