What Nationals learned from Bryce Harper’s exit

WASHINGTON — If the Nationals finish the job, winning their first World Series either at Nationals Park this weekend or back at Minute Maid Park early next week, then you can envision owners, general managers and perhaps even commissioners pouncing on this opportunity to teach us all a lesson:

In baseball, no player is irreplaceable, nor irreplicable.

They won’t even have to say Bryce Harper’s name. We’ll know who they mean.

Yet those management folks shouldn’t get too giddy or cocky as we all get ready for another round of free agency, set to begin as soon as Nov.
