Well this was awesome.
On Tuesday night at ARM & HAMMER Park the Yankees' Double-A Trenton Thunder beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 10-9, after a dramatic come-from-behind finish in the ninth inning.
Down 9-5 heading into the bottom of the final frame, the Thunder scored a run when designated hitter Jose Rosario drove in catcher Kyle Higashioka with a single, and then three batters later pinch-hitter Mark Payton crushed a two-out, three-run home on the first pitch he saw to tie the game.
The fun was just beginning.
Yankees prospect Tyler Wade then stepped to the plate and with two strikes smoked a deep fly ball to center that ended up as an inside-the-park, walk-off home run.
