NEW YORK -- Yankees left fielder Brett Gardner was hurt and pulled from Wednesday's game against the Rays.
Gardner collided with first baseman Rickie Weeks Jr. while running out a groundball in the sixth inning. A run scored, giving the Yankees a 4-3 lead.
Weeks also left the game.
Weeks had neck and right shoulder soreness, according to the Yankees' media relations department. Gardner's injury was unknown.
Gardner stayed on the ground for several minutes after the collision, which happened after Rays reliever Xavier Cedeno collected Gardner's grounder, looked to throw to second base for the force out but realized nobody was at the bag.
