Thanks to the YES Network, we now know Friday is the anniversary of legendary Yankee Stadium announcer making his debut in 1951 as the public address announcer in the Bronx.

We also have footage of his final introduction of Yankees legend Derek Jeter stepping to the plate. As you'll see above, Sheppard's voice was practically drowned out by the crowd that night last September that ended so magically, but it's still a goosebump-inducing moment.
