USA (and Yankees?) lose out on Dellin Betances’ WBC choice

Wanting to honor his family’s Dominican Republic ancestry, Dellin Betances will pitch for the defending World Baseball Classic champions when the 2017 tournament begins March 9 in Miami.

Since the Yankees’ reliever was born in New York, he qualified to pitch for USA or the Dominican Republic squads.

“Both teams want me to play [for them], but I made a commitment to the DR,’’ Betances told The Post Wednesday. “That is where my family is from, and I want to make them proud.’’

MLB won’t announce the WBC rosters until a new CBA is in place.
