Todd Greene was walking out to the field for his Yankee Stadium debut filling in for Jorge Posada behind the plate when a clubhouse attendant stopped him and told him he needed to come back, that he had a visitor waiting for him.
“Nobody can catch here without shaking my hand first," said Yogi Berra to Greene, and then noted, “You’re kind of short, like me.”
And with that Greene was a welcome member of the New York Yankees.
