Probably the biggest story of the Yankees’ 2016 season has been the breakout performance of catcher Gary Sanchez. The long time Yankees prospect has provided a huge spark for the Yankees both offensively and defensively. Sanchez isn’t the only young star to contribute, though. Because of a number of trades and injuries, the Yankees’ minor league system has been very valuable this season.

At the start of the season, the Yankees’ outfield was Brett Gardner, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Carlos Beltran, backed up by Aaron Hicks as the fourth outfielder.
