The Subway Series still gets Aaron Boone’s ‘juices flowing’

CLEVELAND — Introduced in 1997, interleague play has become jaded in some circles, but not in Aaron Boone’s mind.

One day ahead of this season’s first taste of Mets-Yankees on Monday night at Yankee Stadium, Boone hasn’t lost his appetite for what the Subway Series offers.

“I like it, 162-game season it’s something different and gets your juices flowing, knowing you are playing the other team you share the city with,’’ said Boone, who gets his second serving of the Subway Series after splitting six games with the Mets in his first year. “National League, American League, obviously it interests a lot of people.
