The story of a wild 1951 game between the Yankees and Tigers

After three scoreless innings on June 2, 1951, the Yankees took the lead in the top of the fourth. Hank Bauer hit a one-out double off Tigers’ starter Bob Cain, scoring Yogi Berra.

Meanwhile, Yankees starter Jack Kramer was cruising in his first start with his new team. Through five innings, he had allowed no runs with just two walks and two hits. Kramer had gotten off to a rocky start with the Giants and was released. He moved across the city to the Yankees in what would be his final season.
