Chien-Ming Wang is not formally ready to retire quite yet, just as he wasn’t when I saw him at the Yankees’ spring-training complex last March.
“It is my ultimate goal to be able to pass on what I’ve learned all these years to the next generation of ballplayers and young people, so I’m definitely interested in exploring some coaching opportunities,” the right-hander wrote in an email interview (facilitated with an interpreter’s help). “For now, though, I’d still like to keep my options open, while staying in shape and trying to maintain my strength and conditioning.
