The long saga of the Yankees trading away Sonny Gray is aptly dragging itself — not exactly sprinting — across the finish line.
The Yankees and Reds have agreed on the trade, Fancred reported Sunday, and believed to be coming back from Cincinnati will be prospect Shed Long and a draft pick between the first and second round of the draft.
But nothing about the Yankees offloading the disappointing right-hander has been easy. Before the trade is completed, the Reds would like to agree to an extension with Gray, who is entering the last season of his contract.
