Alex Rodriguez wondered recently if Yankees fans might go out to dinner, but make sure they’re back by around 9 p.m., a time coinciding with roughly the seventh inning after a 7 p.m. start.
The electricity of most teams is built around the Nos. 1 and 2 starters, or the Nos. 3-4-5 hitters. Not for the Yankees.
“I do want to watch the seventh, eighth and ninth [innings],” Rodriguez said. “It has a chance to be historical.”
This is not a Yankees team with a lot of electricity around it, which is made all the rougher for the organization due to the rise of the Mets.
