NASHVILLE – The Mets’ loss was apparently the Yankees’ gain.
Shortly after Ben Zobrist agreed to his four-year deal to join the Cubs, Chicago turned around and dealt infielder Starlin Castro to the Yankees for Adam Warren and a player to be named later, a source confirmed.
The Yankees did not get any money from the Cubs in the Castro deal. The infielder is owed $38 million over the next four years after signing a seven-year, $60 million extension with the Cubs in August 2012.
