NEW YORK -- Mathematically, one team already has been eliminated from contention in the American League East.
It's the Baltimore Orioles.
But with the way the Boston Red Sox widened their lead over the AL East's No. 2 team with a four-game sweep of the New York Yankees a week ago, it's easy to think neither the Bronx Bombers, nor anyone else, has a realistic chance at taking the division crown from the Sox.
