Scott Brosius named Mariners’ Triple-A hitting coach

Scott Brosius is returning to the Tacoma Rainiers, only this time he’ll be serving as a coach for the team.

On Thursday night, the Seattle Mariners organization announced that the former New York Yankee third baseman has been hired as the team’s Triple-A hitting coach. This will be Brosius’ first coaching job with a Major League affiliate.

Brosius is originally from the Pacific Northwest, as he was born in Hillsboro, Oregon. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics’ in the 20th round of the 1987 amateur draft, and climbed up the team’s farm system.
