Sanchez’s defensive woes continue as Yankees fall to A’s

OAKLAND — Thing were looking positive for the Yankees to begin the game, as they loaded up the bases, with two outs in the first, for the red-hot Luke Voit. Unfortunately for New York, that was as good as it got all night as everything that could go wrong, went wrong, in the bottom half of the first inning.

In Luis Severino and Gary Sanchez, the Yankees are supposed to of the premier at their respective positions. Tonight, however, both struggled to execute and to communicate with each other.

In an ugly first inning, multiple cross-ups between the two led to two wild pitches and two passed balls that resulted in four early runs for Oakland.
