Amid trade rumors concerning former Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano coming back to the Bronx—he's probably not—the 33-year-old posted a workout video Tuesday on Twitter, tagging his current team, the Seattle Mariners, in the post.
This, apparently, is what sports media has become in 2015: rumors fly about an athlete being "unhappy" with his current team, and to combat those false rumors, he or she can post on social media to essentially end the discussion.
And you know what? Maybe it's not such a bad thing.
A potential trade back to New York is highly unlikely and instead of more and more days of speculation, the athlete (in addition to talking to his general manager and claiming there's not truth to it), can reach the world instantly with a not-subtle indication of how he's feeling.
