The bases loaded blast came off of Buck Ross 13 years and 28 days after his first, extending his already MLB record to 23. His record would stand for 77 years and 1 month until Alex Rodriguez hit his 24th grand salami on September 20, 2013.
The Iron Horse finished the ’38 season batting .295 with 29 homers, 114 RBIs, .410 OBP and 115 runs scored. He was named to his sixth straight All Star Game and won his sixth and final World Series.
