Gerrit Cole isn’t the only Yankee who is going to get paid this season. James Paxton, Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez are set to get big bumps in salary this season through the arbitration process. Paxton, who was deemed a Super-Two, is in his fourth year of arbitration and his final year before free agency. Judge and Sanchez are in their first year of arbitration.
The Yankees have nine players who are arbitration eligible on their 25-man roster and Friday is the deadline for the sides — the MLB Labor Relations department and the MLB Player Association — to exchange the numbers for projected salaries for the 2020 season.
