New York Yankees take out the Seattle Mariners thanks to early punch (Highlights)

At last, the west coast trip has reached its final stop. We’ve moved from the distant planet of “California” to the equally distant planet “Washington,” where we anxiously await our rescue. The end of the nightmare schedule approaches.

The New York Yankees defeated the Seattle Mariners by a score of 5-4.

J.A. Happ got the start in the series opener, and he tossed a solid game. He threw five innings, allowing three earned runs and punching out seven.

The only real damage against Happ came on a three-run homer in the second inning. Outside of that mistake, Happ was excellent on his way to his 11th win of the season.
