The New York Yankees took both of a rainout caused doubleheader with some excellent offense and great pitching performances.
Game One
- New York Yankees 10 (96-51)
- Detroit Tigers 4 (43-101)
- Comerica Park, Detroit, MI
J.A. Happ took the ball to start game one, and continued a pretty successful streak of starts. He only threw 4.2 innings on Thursday, allowing two runs on seven hits. It wasn’t the best performance of the season but he managed to minimize damage.
Happ was sent back to New York for testing on a biceps tendinitis injury that has apparently been bothering him for a few starts.
