With Masahiro Tanaka making his return Thursday, the New York Yankees were forced to evict one of their starting pitchers to the bullpen. Manager Joe Girardi cleared the air by stating that Chris Capuano will be headed to the bullpen, thus retaining right-handed Adam Warren in the starting rotation.
The move comes to no surprise. Since Capuano’s 2015 Yankees debut, it being late due to his disabled list stint, he has been nothing more than subpar. Yankees’ fans expecting a dramatic turnaround for Capuano’s career were, perhaps, too optimistic.
