George Steinbrenner could be accused of lots of things, but he was a winner, and that can be denied. When he fell ill after the 2007 season, Hank and Hal Steinbrenner took over.
For the Yankees, it was the end of an era. But, as time would tell later down the road, it was the beginning of another one. The Yankees won the World Series in 2009 and have remained the most profitable ballclub in MLB, and one of the most competitive ones year in, year out.
