New York Yankees’ J.A. Happ Motivated To Help Reach World Series

J.A. Happ, the 36-year-old southpaw, re-signed a 2-year, $34 million deal with the New York Yankees after Patrick Corbin‘s price rose beyond the Yankees’ budget. Chris Carelli of SNY.tv reports that Happ had “multiple offers on the table, some more lucrative than he ultimately signed with the Yankees.”

Happ arrived early for Spring Training and spoke with reporters on Friday, according to Greg Joyce of the New York Post. Happ said of his signing with the Yankees:

I know that [the Yankees are] all in every year trying to win a championship.
