New York Yankees: Good news and bad news following destruction of Phillies

The New York Yankees faced off against the Philadelphia Phillies in the first game of a four-game series on Monday evening. With star pitcher Gerrit Cole taking the mound, the Yankees were looking to extend their winning streak to eight games in a row. Luckily, their offense started off strong, as lead-off hitter DJ LeMahieu smashed an opposite-field home run in the first inning.

The Yankees’ victory is only another testament to their dominance, despite the Phillies having a few days off due to COVID-19 concerns. After playing the Miami Marlins last weekend, the Phillies had been quarantining and testing their players to ensure they experienced multiple negative results.
