New York Yankees: DJ LeMahieu Finishes Fourth In MVP Voting, Gleyber Torres 17th

The MVP awards were released on Thursday, and to nobody’s surprise, Mike Trout won the award for a third time. Alex Bregman and Marcus Semien finished second and third. However, a pair of New York Yankees recieved votes.

DJ LeMahieu finished fourth with 178 votes, and Gleyber Torres finished 17th with eight votes.

LeMahieu, 31, had arguably the best season of his career in 2019. He bat .327 with 26 home runs and 102 RBIs, and was the leadoff hitter for the majority of the year. DJ was signed before the 2019 season on a 2 year/ $24 million deal but it’s likely that his contract will be extended if he expresses interest in staying.
