The New York Yankees had to do some roster reshuffling after Tuesday night’s thrilling victory over the Minnesota Twins. Despite the victory, the Yanks were dealt a tough blow in regards to Gary Sanchez.
The team announced that Sanchez is heading to the 10-day injured list after appearing to tweak something while trying to beat out a ground ball. Kyle Higashioka is coming up from Triple-A to replace Sanchez on the roster. Backup catcher Austin Romine should see most of the time behind the plate until Sanchez returns.
The Yankees must be numb to injuries at this point in the season.
