Nathan Eovaldi is expected to be out at least 2 weeks with elbow inflammation

The flamethrowing righty is going to hit the disabled list with experiencing soreness in his right elbow.

According to Sweeny Murti at WFAN, Nathan Eovaldi will be shut down for the next two weeks with a bad case of elbow inflammation. On the season, the 27-year-old is 14-3 with a 4.20 ERA over 27 starts. Eovaldi had Tommy John surgery in high school, so any health concerns pertaining to his elbow have to be handled extremely cautiously. Given the trend of high velocity pitchers going under the knife, the fact that Eovaldi routinely hits triple digits on the radar gun is always somewhat of a gift and a curse.
