NEW YORK -- The only thing as bad as the Yankees on Monday night at Yankee Stadium was Angel Hernandez's umpiring at first base.
While the Yankees were being handed their most lopsided postseason loss ever in losing 16-1 to the Boston Red Sox in Game 3 of the ALDS, four of Hernandez's calls in the first four innings went to replay challenge and three were overturned.
At one point, Hernandez turned to Yankees first baseman Luke Voit and said, "I'll get the next one right."
Should anyone be surprised Hernandez botched a few calls?
