Today is a day of optimism for a lot of fans. The trades and free agent signings of the preseason have passed us by. The preseason is now over with, except for the Cubs and the Angels at least. Weird how that worked out. Either way, it all begins today. Six teams play Game 1 of 162. The 2016 season is here.
The first game of the day begins right now. The St. Louis Cardinals, last year's NL Central division winner, will begin their season at PNC Park to face the Pittsburgh Pirates.
