MLB Draft 2019: Yankees select Spencer Henson 285th overall

It has been quite a busy day, but the draft is starting to wind down now. The Yankees love college pitchers, which explains how they already collected five of them today. With their ninth-round pick, though, they turned towards the infield and selected Spencer Henson at 285th overall. The large first baseman checks in at six-foot-two, 235 pounds and hails from Oral Roberts University.

Henson failed to rank on Baseball America’s Top 500 list, and didn’t crack MLB.com’s Top 200 either, so scouting reports are limited. The big right-hander worked as a two-way player throughout his college years.
