MLB Draft 2018: Yankees select Connor Van Hoose 247th overall

With the 247th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, the Yankees selected right-handed pitcher Connor Van Hoose out of Bucknell University. This continues the team’s trend of selecting righty arms on day two of the draft.

Van Hoose checks in at six-foot-one and 175 pounds. Interestingly enough, he went unranked both by Baseball America and MLB.com. That makes this pick something of a wild card.

The 22-year-old had a strong regular season, going 8-4 with a 2.36 ERA. He also tossed a no-hitter in April against Lehigh University. Van Hoose developed a reputation for being a workhorse, throwing six complete games on the year.
