Friday at 1 p.m. ET was the deadline for arbitration-eligible players and teams to exchange salary figures for 2018.
As you would expect, many players avoided arbitration before the deadline by agreeing to contracts for the upcoming season.
Among those reaching deals:
- Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson: 1 year, $23 million (a new record for arbitration-eligible players).
Among the players who were not able to reach an agreement on a new deal was Orioles third baseman Manny Machado, who remains the constant subject of trade rumors.
