Monday’s series opener between the Yankees and Mets at the Stadium has been rained out, the teams announced. The game will be made up as part of day-night doubleheader Tuesday. The first game will start at 1:05 p.m. and the second at 7:05.
Jason Vargas was scheduled to pitch for the Mets against the Yankees’ Masahiro Tanaka, who is coming back from paternity leave. Zack Wheeler and James Paxton were slated to pitch Tuesday, but matchups for the doubleheader games have yet to be announced.
