Meet the members of baseball's 3,000-hit club

1. Pete Rose: Baseball’s all-time hits leader accumulated 4,256 hits over his 24-year career with the Reds, Phillies and Expos and became the 13th player to join the 3,000th hit club on May 5, 1978 with a single off Montreal’s Steve Rogers. Rose was later banned from baseball for betting on games and remains absent from the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

2. Ty Cobb: A legend who still holds the majors’ career batting average record at .366, Cobb totaled 4,191 hits in his 24-year career, 22 of which he spent with the Detroit Tigers.
