TORONTO - Don Mattingly is in. And so are the Yankees.
After 14 years, 1,785 games and a season ripe with speculation that this was his last chance, at least as a Yankee, to make it to be the promised land, Mattingly yesterday opened the door to the postseason.
And the Captain did it with a bang. Mattingly launched a fifth-inning home run to put an exclamation point on a 6-1 victory over the Blue Jays that clinched a wild-card spot in the playoffs for the streaking Bombers, winners of five straight and 11 of 12.
