Looking back on the longest winning streaks in Yankees history

On April 8th, the A’s were in disarray. The defending AL West champions had been embarrassed by the rival Astros in a four-game sweep in Oakland to start the season, and after narrowly avoiding another sweep at the hands of the Dodgers with an extra-inning win on April 7th, they’d lost to Houston again. They were 1-7 and looked absolutely lost ... until they weren’t.

They won on April 9th. Then again on April 10th. As a matter of fact, they just kept winning until the Orioles finally cooled off their bats on Sunday in an 8-1 victory.
