Logan Morrison

The New York Yankees made a rather surprising signing on Friday morning.

First baseman and the New York Yankees are in agreement on a minor league deal, sources tell ESPN. He’s got an opt-out date of July 1 and will make $1 million if he’s added to the major league roster.

According to multiple sources, the Yankees have agreed to a minor league deal with Logan Morrison. The 31-year-old will reportedly head to extended Spring Training before being added to the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre roster.

Last season, Morrison was hampered by injuries, and was forced to miss an extended period of time due to surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip.
