Kay back in Yanks' broadcast booth after surgery

New York Yankees play-by-play television announcer Michael Kay is returning to the YES broadcast booth Saturday, more than a month after having surgery on his vocal cord.

Kay, 58, saw specialist in Boston in early July who recommended the operation to have a nodule removed from his vocal cord.

He has called Yankees games since 1992 and has been the lead TV broadcaster since 2002. He will return as the host the The Michael Kay Show on ESPN NY 98.7 FM on Aug. 26.
