TAMPA — The Yankees did some roster cutting before, during and after their 7-6 Grapefruit League loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday.
Six players were reassigned to the minor-league, one of them being Justus Sheffield, their top left-handed pitching prospect.
Sheffield was demoted just after he allowed three runs over 1 2/3 innings in Thursday’s game.
Here are the cuts and the updated roster with position-by-position breakdown:

Age: 25 (26 on July 16)
Acquired: 2013 draft, 13th round.
