It didn’t take long for John Sterling to bust out his Edwin Encarnacion homer call.
The AL home run leader, playing in his second game in pinstripes, homered in the eighth inning of the Yankees’ 6-3 win over the AL East rival Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night at the Stadium. It was Encarnacion’s 22nd homer of the season.
The long-time Yankees radio announcer busted out this call after the slugger’s blast to right-center field: “Una celebracion for Edwin Encarnacion!”
Like it or not, at least Encarnacion got a Sterling-ism, unlike Thairo Estrada after he hit his first dinger.
