TAMPA — Goose Gossage wasn’t in Yankees camp Wednesday, a day after he made more inflammatory comments to The Post.
But general manager Brian Cashman said his absence was not related to Gossage’s recent outbursts ranging from current players’ on-field behavior to the way the game is run.
The latest came on Wednesday, when the Hall of Famer ripped instant replay and Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to The Post.
“Do we want a bunch of Cam Newtons running around?” Gossage said Tuesday.
Manager Joe Girardi didn’t sound thrilled with Gossage when asked.
