Jacob Rhame and Mets planning to appeal his suspension

Jacob Rhame and the Mets are not pleased the right-hander was suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for what Major League Baseball called “intentionally throwing a pitch in the area of the head of Rhys Hoskins’’ in the ninth inning of the Mets win over the Phillies on Tuesday at Citi Field.

“It wasn’t intentional, so you do [take offense to the ruling],’’ Callaway said Friday, a day after the penalty was handed down by Joe Torre, the chief baseball officer for MLB.

“That was their decision,’’ the manager said of the league.
