Too bad John Oliver wasn’t selling four tickets to Yankees’ Opening Day.
Two fans — Joe Spillo and John Welch of Yorktown Heights — came to the Yankees game against the Astros on Tuesday dressed as half of the members of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after winning Oliver’s contest. Spillo and Welch were located directly behind home plate in the front row and seen constantly throughout YES Network’s broadcast.
The HBO comedian sold a pair of tickets to each of the Yankees’ first three games of the season for 25 cents each, claiming the franchise was “elitist a–holes” for their new ticket policy.
