The Yankees are on a collision course with the wild card and that game could come against the Astros.

That’s why these words from Dellin Betances were so important on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.

“This is the strongest I’ve ever been at this point in the season,’’ Betances told The Post before the Yankees played the Rays.

That is a testament to the other arms in the bullpen and the smart way Aaron Boone has used Betances this season. In the previous four seasons, Betances worked 70 games in 2014, 74 in 2015, 73 in 2016 and 66 last year, all those years under Joe Girardi.
